Job Summary

As an Vendor E&I Inspector at Applus Velosi, you will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality and compliance of electrical and instrumentation systems in vendor facilities and on-site installations. Your role will involve inspecting high-voltage electrical installations, hazardous area equipment, and instrumentation calibrations to ensure they meet industry standards and project specifications. With your extensive experience and technical expertise, you will contribute to maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance in the oil and gas industry.

Roles & Responsibilities

Conduct detailed inspections of electrical and instrumentation installations, including high-voltage switchgear, electrical drives, and hazardous area equipment.

Verify compliance with project specifications, industry standards (BS/IEC/ISO/API/ATEX/EEMUA/ARAMCO), and relevant codes of practice.

Perform and verify calibration of various instruments, including ultrasonic flow meters, level transmitters, temperature transmitters, and pressure transmitters.

Ensure that all calibration activities adhere to industry standards and manufacturer specifications.

Collaborate with vendors to ensure that equipment and installations meet quality and safety standards.

Review vendor documentation, including test reports and certification, to verify compliance with project requirements.

Prepare and maintain comprehensive inspection reports, detailing findings, deviations, and recommendations for corrective actions.

Document all inspection activities and maintain accurate records for audit and compliance purposes.

Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety legislation and regulations.

Identify potential safety hazards and recommend appropriate measures to mitigate risks.

Provide technical support and guidance to project teams regarding electrical and instrumentation issues.

Communicate effectively with stakeholders to resolve any inspection-related concerns and ensure project requirements are met.

Mandatory Requirements

Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.

Minimum of 8 years of experience in a comparable role within the oil and gas industry.

Previous construction experience with exposure to high-voltage electrical installations, switchgear, and electrical drives.

Experience with hazardous area installations and instrumentation calibrations.

Strong working knowledge of BS/IEC/ISO/API/ATEX/EEMUA/ARAMCO codes and standards related to electrical and instrumentation work.

Familiarity with construction standards, codes of practice, and regulations/legislation pertaining to electrical and instrumentation work.

Knowledge of safety legislation and regulations.
